NCT ID NCT07516665

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to use breathing machines for people with severe lung injury (ARDS). The goal is to use very gentle breaths to avoid further lung damage, while a special life support machine helps with oxygen and carbon dioxide removal. About 290 adults on breathing machines for less than a week will be enrolled. The study compares this approach to standard care to see if it improves survival and reduces time on the ventilator.
