New ultra-low-dose CT scan aims to protect kids with rare blood vessel disorder

NCT ID NCT04874558

First seen May 09, 2026 ยท Last updated May 09, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new ultra-low-dose chest CT technique to find abnormal blood vessels in the lungs of children with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). The goal was to see if the scan could use much less radiation than usual while still detecting these vessels clearly. Only 3 children took part, so the results are very early.
