New antibody aims to tame rare bleeding disorder
NCT ID NCT07623525
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial tests an experimental antibody called DIAG723 in 93 adults with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), a condition that causes abnormal blood vessels and frequent nosebleeds. The study will check if the drug is safe and how the body processes it, with some participants receiving a placebo. It also includes a small group of HHT patients who have a related lung condition called pulmonary arterial hypertension.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
DIAG723, an experimental antibody that targets two proteins to help repair blood vessels
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment to reduce bleeding and other complications in people with HHT.
What could go wrong
This is a very early first-in-human study with only 93 participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet known. The drug may cause side effects or not work as hoped.
