Super-Dose water pills: a new hope for heart failure sufferers?
NCT ID NCT06036914
First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a very high dose of water pills (diuretics) is safe and works better than the usual dose for people hospitalized with worsening heart failure. Twenty adults with fluid overload received either ultrahigh or standard doses over 24 hours. Researchers measured urine output, weight loss, and blood markers to see if the higher dose helps remove excess fluid more effectively.
