Radiation boost may help CAR-T cells wipe out stubborn lymphoma
NCT ID NCT05514327
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving a special type of radiotherapy (ultra-fraction) before CAR-T cell therapy can safely improve outcomes for people with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. About 20 adults who have failed at least two prior treatments will receive the radiotherapy followed by CAR-T cells. The main goal is to see how many patients respond at 3 months, with longer-term follow-up for progression and survival.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- ultra-fraction radiotherapy and CD19 CAR-T cell therapy
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could improve how well CAR-T therapy controls lymphoma in patients who have run out of other options.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply widely. The combination could also cause unexpected side effects.
