First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests if using water instead of carbon dioxide gas during a throat procedure (POEM) for swallowing disorders can lower pain afterward. About 36 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see which approach leads to less pain, fewer pain meds, and fewer hospital readmissions.
