No-Tube kidney stone surgery may mean less pain for kids
NCT ID NCT07183930
First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at 640 children aged 6 to 18 with large kidney stones. It compared the standard surgery that leaves a drainage tube in the kidney to a newer 'tubeless' method that skips the tube. The goal was to see if the tubeless approach is just as safe and leads to less pain, shorter hospital stays, and fewer blood transfusions.
