New scan spots tumors more clearly?

NCT ID NCT05556473

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early study tests a special PET/CT scan that uses a modified tryptophan molecule to make tumors light up more clearly than normal tissue. About 24 adults with brain, breast, neuroendocrine, or rectal cancers will get one scan to see if this method helps doctors tell tumors apart from healthy tissue. The goal is to improve future treatment planning, not to treat the cancer itself.
