Blood test could replace painful biopsies for lung transplant patients
NCT ID NCT05837663
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to see if a blood test (dd-cfDNA) can accurately detect when a lung transplant is being rejected, compared to the standard method of taking a tissue sample (biopsy). Researchers will enroll 600 adult lung transplant recipients to compare blood test results with biopsy findings and antibody tests. The goal is to make rejection monitoring easier and less invasive for patients.
