Summary
This study tested a program called TOPPS for people taking buprenorphine for opioid use disorder who also have chronic pain. The program uses counseling and education to help patients manage pain without turning to opioids. Researchers compared it to a health education group in 163 adults and followed them for 12 months to see if it improved pain, mood, and treatment retention.
