NCT ID NCT05906888

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study followed 156 adults who were being weaned from a breathing machine using a tracheostomy (a tube in the throat). The goal was to measure how long weaning takes, how often patients feel short of breath or uncomfortable, and how this affects their quality of life and mental health afterward. Researchers observed patients in the hospital and checked in later to see if they had symptoms like anxiety or PTSD.
