Summary

This study tested whether putting vancomycin powder directly into the surgical wound during brain surgery can prevent infections. Over 1100 adults having neurosurgery were randomly assigned to receive either the standard care or standard care plus topical vancomycin. Researchers then tracked infection rates for 90 days after surgery.
