NCT ID NCT03654742

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to remove tonsils in adults with recurrent or chronic tonsillitis: the traditional method (extracapsular) and a newer, less invasive method (intracapsular). About 167 adults aged 16-65 will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries. The main goal is to see which method leads to less pain and faster recovery after the operation.
