Lollipops replace needles: new pain relief for kids after tonsil surgery

Summary

This study tested a special lollipop containing the painkiller diclofenac to help children aged 4 to 12 manage pain after having their tonsils removed. Fifty children received a weight-adjusted dose every 8 hours for the first day after surgery. The goal was to see if the lollipop reduced pain and was easy for kids to take.
