Can a bandage inside the throat ease tonsil surgery pain?
NCT ID NCT06543823
First seen Jul 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 28, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether placing a special synthetic membrane called Suprathel 250 on the wound after tonsil removal can reduce pain and improve healing. About 80 adults scheduled for tonsillectomy will either receive the membrane or have the wound left to heal on its own. Researchers will measure pain levels, inflammation markers, and how well patients can speak, chew, and swallow afterward.
