Can tongue workouts help stroke survivors swallow again?
NCT ID NCT06072924
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple, 8-week program of tongue-strengthening exercises done at home can improve swallowing difficulties in adults who have had a stroke. Researchers will compare the exercise program to a sham therapy to see which is better at helping people swallow more safely and efficiently. The study will also use brain scans to see if the exercises cause positive changes in the brain related to swallowing control.
