Summary
This study tested two different smoking cessation programs in 52 adults diagnosed with cancer in the past 3 years. One group received 12 weeks of medication and 7 coaching calls focused on cancer, while the other received a standard 2-week nicotine patch and 3 coaching calls. The goal was to see which approach helps more patients quit smoking for good, measured 26 weeks after their quit date.
