Timing of numbing shot may cut opioid use in prostate surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether giving a local anesthetic to the abdominal wall at the start of robotic prostate surgery, rather than at the end, can reduce the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed during the operation. About 50 adults with prostate cancer or benign prostate disease will take part. The goal is to find a simple way to manage pain and lower opioid use and side effects.
