New eye drug aims to outperform standard treatment for blinding disease

Summary
This study tests a new medicine called tiespectus (EYE201/MK-8748) against the standard treatment aflibercept for wet age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss. About 960 adults with untreated wet AMD will receive injections into the eye to see if the new drug works as well or better at preserving eyesight. The trial is currently recruiting participants.
