New prostate cancer trial aims to tailor treatment with Cutting-Edge imaging and DNA tests
NCT ID NCT06282588
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
The THUNDER trial is testing whether using advanced PET scans and a genetic test (Decipher) can help doctors choose the right treatment for high-risk prostate cancer. About 493 men will either get stronger treatment if their scans or genetic score show high risk, or less intense treatment if they appear lower risk. The goal is to improve survival and quality of life by personalizing care.
