New combo therapy aims to stop liver cancer from coming back after ablation

Summary
This study tests whether adding immunotherapy (atezolizumab) and a targeted drug (bevacizumab) before and after standard heat ablation can prevent liver cancer from returning. About 202 adults with small, early-stage liver tumors will be randomly assigned to receive ablation alone or ablation plus the drug combo. The goal is to see if the combo improves how long patients stay cancer-free.
