Shocking pain away: TENS device tested for hip fracture relief
NCT ID NCT07567339
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a small device that sends mild electrical pulses through the skin (TENS) can lower pain and the need for painkillers in older adults with a broken hip. About 32 people aged 60 and older will be randomly assigned to receive either real TENS or a fake version for 45 minutes. Researchers will measure pain, vital signs, and emotional factors to see if TENS offers extra relief beyond standard care.
