App-Based care keeps IBD patients in remission longer, study finds

Summary
This study tested a web-based telemonitoring system called TECCU for people with moderate-to-severe inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis). 290 adults who were starting new medications (immunosuppressants or biologics) were randomly assigned to use the TECCU system or receive usual care. The goal was to see if telemonitoring helped them stay in remission longer over 52 weeks. The study also looked at whether this approach was cost-effective.
