First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a combined speech and exercise program delivered via telemedicine could improve speech clarity in people with Parkinson's disease. Nearly 90% of people with Parkinson's have speech problems that make daily communication hard. The study involved 104 veterans and used remote technology to provide ongoing training. The main goal was to see if speech intelligibility (how well others understand spoken words) improved after 6 months.
