Deep heat treatment may help neck patients regain balance
NCT ID NCT07289607
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether TECAR therapy, a deep heat treatment using radiofrequency, can improve proprioception (body awareness) in people with cervical radiculopathy. Eighty adults aged 30-40 with confirmed nerve root compression will be randomly assigned to real or sham TECAR. The goal is to see if this therapy can help restore balance and movement control often impaired by the condition.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TECAR therapy (radiofrequency-based deep thermotherapy device)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new way to improve balance and body awareness in people with cervical radiculopathy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no phase designation. The sham control may not fully blind participants, and the therapy's effect on proprioception is unproven.
