Summary

This study looks at 400 people with cirrhosis and sudden bleeding from enlarged veins in the food pipe. It compares getting an emergency scope within 6 hours versus waiting 6 to 24 hours. The goal is to see which timing better prevents repeat bleeding over the next 42 days.
