New hope for kids: shorter TB prevention regimen studied
NCT ID NCT03730181
First seen May 08, 2026 ยท Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study looked at a new way to give two medicines (rifapentine and isoniazid) to children aged 0-12 who have a dormant TB infection but are not sick. The goal was to find the right dose that works as well as in adults, while being safe for both HIV-positive and HIV-negative children. The results help create better dosing guidelines to prevent active TB in kids.
