Prison study tests faster TB prevention for vulnerable inmates
NCT ID NCT03089983
Summary
This study tested two different approaches to prevent tuberculosis (TB) in Malaysian prisons, where many inmates have opioid addiction, HIV, or hepatitis. Researchers compared a standard 40-week daily treatment against a shorter 12-week weekly treatment to see which worked better. The goal was to find the most effective and practical way to control TB in this high-risk population.
