Scientists map how TB drugs work in the body to improve treatment

NCT ID NCT02563327

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the body processes two tuberculosis drugs, rifapentine and moxifloxacin, when given at high doses. Researchers measured drug levels in the blood of 53 adult TB patients to see if higher drug exposure led to better treatment results and fewer side effects. The goal was to use this information to help doctors prescribe the most effective and safest doses in the future.
