First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 14,000 older adults (66+) with advanced chronic kidney disease who started taking tamsulosin. Researchers compared those on a higher dose (0.8 mg/day) to those on a lower dose (0.4 mg/day) to see if the higher dose led to more hospital visits or deaths within 90 days. The goal was to understand the safety of this common prostate medication in this vulnerable group.
