New study aims to break the silence on sex after gynecologic cancer
NCT ID NCT06904339
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether an educational video and workbook can help gynecologic cancer patients bring up sexual health concerns with their cancer care team. About 200 patients will either receive the video and workbook plus a resource guide, or just the guide alone. Researchers will record clinic visits and track whether patients discuss sexual health, and measure their sexual function and mood over six months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Starting the Conversation (educational video and workbook)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could help gynecologic cancer patients feel more comfortable discussing sexual health with their doctors, potentially improving their sexual function and emotional well-being.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage behavioral study, not a drug trial. The intervention may not significantly change communication or outcomes, and results may not apply to other cancer centers.
