Summary
This trial tests whether placing a small closed-suction drain under the skin before closing the incision can reduce wound complications in women with thick subcutaneous tissue (2.5 cm or more) undergoing midline abdominal surgery for gynecologic cancer. Half of the participants will receive the drain; the other half will have standard closure without a drain. Researchers will track infections, wound separation, fluid collections, and the need for extra wound care for 30 days after surgery.
