Virus-Immunotherapy combo shows promise for rare, Tough-to-Treat skin cancers

Summary

This study tests a two-step treatment for people with certain rare skin cancers and lymphomas that haven't responded to standard care. First, patients receive a virus-based drug (talimogene laherparepvec) injected into tumors. Then, they get the same virus plus an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) that helps the immune system attack cancer. The goal is to see if this combination shrinks tumors and provides lasting control. About 68 adults with specific cancer types are participating.
