Doctors test custom plans to stop deadly blood clots from coming back

Summary
This study aims to find the best personalized treatment plan for people who have had their first dangerous blood clot (like a deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism). Researchers will use a simple cheek swab and questionnaire to estimate each patient's risk of having another clot versus their risk of serious bleeding from blood thinners. Based on these individual risks, patients will either stop or continue blood-thinning medication, with some being randomly assigned to different treatment groups to compare outcomes over 2-6 years.
