First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether daily 30-minute sessions of transcranial pulsed electromagnetic fields (T-PEMF) can improve movement and other symptoms in people with Parkinson's disease. 90 participants will receive either real or sham treatment for the first 6 months, then all receive real treatment for another 6 months. Researchers will measure changes in physical function, tremor, and medication needs.

Active substance

Transcranial pulsed electromagnetic fields (T-PEMF) device

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-drug way to manage Parkinson's symptoms and possibly reduce the need for medication.

What could go wrong

This is an early-stage trial with only 90 participants. The treatment may not work better than placebo, and effects may vary. Long-term benefits are uncertain.
