First-in-Human trial launches: reprogrammed immune cells hunt deadly cancer mutations
NCT ID NCT06218914
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new type of personalized cell therapy for adults with advanced solid tumors that have a specific genetic change called KRAS G12D. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells (T cells), genetically modify them in a lab to recognize and attack cancer cells with this mutation, and then infuse them back into the patient. The main goals are to find a safe dose and see if this approach shows any early signs of shrinking tumors in cancers like lung, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer that have stopped responding to standard treatments.
