New drug combo aims to boost stem cell transplant success in tough lymphoma
NCT ID NCT07225985
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new combination of two chemotherapy drugs (pralatrexate and bendamustine) plus low-dose radiation to the whole body before a donor stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and helps more people with relapsed or refractory T-cell lymphoma get to transplant. About 50 adults will take part in this early-phase trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
pralatrexate and bendamustine
What this could lead to
If this works, it could offer a new, less intense way to prepare patients for a donor stem cell transplant, potentially improving outcomes for those with hard-to-treat T-cell lymphoma.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase I/II trial with only 50 participants, so results are preliminary. The combination may cause serious side effects, and it's not yet known if it will be better than existing treatments.
