HIV and syphilis: which antibiotic combo works best?
NCT ID NCT05980871
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at people with HIV who also had early syphilis. It compared two treatments: one using ceftriaxone plus doxycycline, and the other using penicillin plus doxycycline. The goal was to see which combo worked better and could also treat other common sexually transmitted infections at the same time. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
