NCT ID NCT05187091

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new way to give radiation to people with head and neck cancer. The goal is to see if protecting the parts of the throat used for swallowing can help patients eat and drink better after treatment. About 136 adults with certain types of head and neck cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard radiation or the new swallowing-sparing technique. The main focus is on how well patients can swallow 6 months after treatment, as reported by the patients themselves.
