First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether replacing sugary drinks with stevia-sweetened ones helps children ages 8 to 12 control their weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol. About 150 kids who currently drink sugary beverages will be assigned to drink either stevia-sweetened drinks, water, or sugary drinks for 8 to 14 weeks. The goal is to see if stevia offers benefits similar to water for weight and metabolic health.
