Tiny lungs, big question: fast or slow surfactant for preemies?

NCT ID NCT07261787

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether giving surfactant (a lung treatment) over 1 minute or 5 minutes helps very premature babies (under 28 weeks) stay more stable. The goal is to see which speed leads to better oxygen levels in the blood and brain. 76 babies will take part, and the results could improve how this lifesaving treatment is given.
