Could a buddy system boost weight loss surgery success?
NCT ID NCT03642197
Summary
This study tested if having a support person, like a partner or friend, attend medical appointments with patients getting weight loss surgery could help. Researchers wanted to see if this support led to better weight loss, healthier eating, and more exercise after surgery compared to patients who attended appointments alone. The study also looked at whether this approach was practical and acceptable for patients and their support people.
