First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at whether having a partner or support person attend bariatric surgery appointments helps patients lose more weight and stick to healthy habits. 63 adults preparing for or recovering from bariatric surgery were split into groups that either brought a support person or came alone. Researchers tracked weight loss, diet, and activity to see if support figures made a difference.
