Crisis line calls aim to stop suicide after ER discharge
NCT ID NCT05837026
Summary
This study tests whether weekly phone or text check-ins from a trained crisis support organization can help prevent suicide attempts in people recently discharged from the emergency room for suicidal thoughts. 300 participants will be randomly assigned to receive these weekly check-ins plus usual care, or usual care alone, for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if this supportive outreach reduces suicide attempts and helps people connect with ongoing mental health care.
