Suicide gene stem cells take on brain cancer in early trial
NCT ID NCT07143812
First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new treatment for glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain cancer. After standard surgery, patients receive a single dose of special stem cells that carry a 'suicide gene' directly into the tumor site. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and can kill leftover cancer cells to delay the cancer's return. Only 10 adults aged 19 to 70 with newly diagnosed glioblastoma are being enrolled.
