Sweetener showdown: what three weeks of soda really does to your body

NCT ID NCT07194772

Summary

This study aimed to understand how drinking beverages with different sweeteners for three weeks affects the body's blood sugar control and gut health. Researchers compared sucralose (a low-calorie sweetener), refined sugar, and 100% natural fruit juice in 42 healthy young adults. They measured blood sugar responses, gut bacteria, and markers of inflammation before and after the three-week period to see if one type of sweetener was better or worse.
