NCT ID NCT05058287
First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests if placing a steroid directly on the spine during back surgery helps reduce pain and the need for opioid painkillers afterward. About 150 adults having a 1-2 level lumbar laminectomy will be randomly assigned to receive the steroid or not. Researchers will track opioid use, hospital stay length, and pain scores to see if the steroid improves recovery.
