Summary
This study tested whether injecting stem cells into the leg could prevent wound complications and reduce the need for further amputations in people with severe artery disease. Eighty-one patients scheduled for major leg amputation received stem cell injections above and below the cut site. The main goal was to check safety and see if the treatment helped avoid additional surgeries.
