Personalized stem cell therapy tested to restore movement after spinal injury

NCT ID NCT04064957

Summary

This study tested whether a patient's own stem cells, collected from body fat, could help improve function after a chronic spinal cord injury. Three men with different types of spinal cord injuries received multiple infusions of their own cells over about a year. The main goals were to check if the treatment was safe and to see if it could help restore sensation or movement.
