Could your own stem cells fix a failing heart?
NCT ID NCT03572660
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests if a patient's own stem cells can improve heart function in people with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart is enlarged and weak. Twenty adults with severe heart failure symptoms will have stem cells taken from their hip bone and infused into their heart arteries, while a mini heart pump supports the heart during the procedure. The goal is to see if this treatment can strengthen the heart and ease symptoms like shortness of breath and fatigue.
